2 : Group Properties
- Group properties often remain consistent within a group of the periodic table. For example, alkali metals (Group 1) are highly reactive and tend to form +1 ions, while noble gases (Group 18) are inert. Group 2 elements (alkaline earth metals) have some similarities, as do Group 17 elements (halogens). Recognize these group behaviors.
